CHOIR REHEARSAL SCHEDULE
The Men’s Gospel Choir will gather this Wednesday, February 1 at 6:30pm in preparation for the 1st Sunday. Hope to see all choir members present! Thank you all for your important ministry!

EXTENDING SYMPATHY
Let us all extend our sympathy to Mae Parks on the passing of her Mother, Anna Sue Parks who lived in Memphis.
Also, to Henry Shearrill on the passing of his nieces husband, John Melvin Williams.

IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR – TAXES
Sister Donna will be preparing taxes again this year. She will begin on January 17th and end on April 17th. Each of the Tuesdays she will be at the WIN Job Center from 8a.m. to 8p.m. She will be at Sacred Heart all other times. Please make an appointment (601.331.3300) from either Sacred Heart or WIN Job Center whichever is more convenient for you and your schedule. Make sure you have all the necessary documents: Social Security cards for anyone claimed on the return; all income documents such as W-2’s, 1099’s, unemployment, interest statements, etc. Remember: If you are claiming child care/ dependent credit, you must bring proof of what you paid and the providers ID#. If you would like your refund direct deposited you need to bring routing and bank account information. Call Sister Donna with any questions.

SACRED HEART YOUTH BASKETBALL 2012
Sacred Heart Family Center is now registering youth for participation in the 2012 Youth Basketball Program. Registration is now open to girls and boys, ages 6 – 14 and will remain open until February 3, 2012. Don’t miss out on this wonderful winter program! Games will run from February 18 each Saturday through March 31st. Registration fee is $20.00 per child – forms are available on the table. For more information see Jerome Eldridge.

2012 NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
FOR THE AFRICAN AMERICAN FAMILY
Sunday, February 5, 2012 is the annual Day of Prayer for the African American Family. This is a day for families to gather, go to church together and celebrate and pray for God’s blessing. It is also a day for us to join in solidarity with our African sisters and brothers in the Motherland as we pray for the needs of their families. Let’s gather as a family next Sunday in prayer.

Catholic Day at the Capitol, Wednesday, February 29th
If you would like to join Sr. Donna for this event she will depart here at 8:30 a.m. and go to Jackson for input on the 2 issues that will be stressed with legislators: Mass and a Box Lunch follow. After lunch, all go to the Capitol to speak with local legislators regarding Immigration and funding of Dept. of Human Services esp. Foster Care. Will return to Camden at around 4:30pm.

BLACK HISTORY PROGRAM
The Parish will sponsor and hold a Black History Program on Sunday, February 19th at 2 pm in the Church. If you would like to participate and share a story, a song, or a poem please see Jerome Eldridge. Spread the word to you family and friends as we gather to celebrate Black History Month. Special Guest Speaker: Brother Ansel Augustine from New Orleans, LA.

INCOME TAX DEDUCTION LETTER
As you prepare to have your income tax done the parish is able to provide you a letter of your contributions to the church for tax purposes. Please call the office and speak with Linda Ammons if you would like this letter. Thank you.

PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
This is to announce that the Parish Council will hold its monthly meeting on Tuesday, February 7th at 6:30pm in the Family Center. All members are encouraged to attend.

MEN’S & WOMEN’S GROUP MEETINGS
The Men’s Group will meet next Sunday, Feb. 5th after the 9 am Mass in the Family Center.
The Women’s Group will meet this Saturday, Feb. 4th at 9am in the Family Center.

SUPER BOWL GATHERING NEXT WEEK
Next Sunday, February 5th is Super Bowl Sunday. The Men’s Group will once again host a Super Bowl Gathering in the Parish Hall beginning at 5pm. Join them by brining something to share: drink, food, snacks, dip’s. Come and support your team: the Giants or the Patriots. Remember to bring something to share with the group – food and drink are not provided!
